what would be the best dd tire in florida to fit on 18x8.5 and 19x9.5 ruff 278's
i already got quoted 1900 for the rims and w/ firestone firehawks 245's and 285's(OEM corvette ones are what they told me. wide ovals maybe). should i try looking for different ones?

I have the Ruff 278's on my 2001 vette and i'm running 245/40/18 front and 285/35/19 rear I have the BFG kdw's and they are a good tire for the price and handle good. I would recommend them. If you wanted to spend the money Goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 are a great tire

I'm on my second set of bfgoodrich KDW's(245/50/R16) Great tires IMO. Great handling and grip in corners. Really good in the wet as well. Hooks reasonably well when the weather is warm(I can spin them at 60mph in cold weather with stock power). Definetly worth the extra $200-$300 versus some crappy sumitomos and junk kuhmos I tried before.

I run firehawk wideovals in SC though I am going with nitto street radials with my new wheels.
The wideovals definitely grip better than the stock tires and they look nice. The one benefit to firehawks was getting my tires rotated for free at any firestone dealer (even though the tires came from tirerack)

I don't think the wideovals are a good choice if your DD has 450+ to the wheels...just speaking from first hand experince. I had Nittos before and LOVED them and I always haer good things about the bfgs.

they should fit fine and you shouldn't have any trouble fitting those tires in the rear but do your research before you do anything check the back spacing.. i've seen the ruff's on a t/a with 18's all the way around and it looked good and had no problem with the wide rear tire
