Default PSI for street driving with MT Drag Radials

ok guys i just got a set of MT drag radials 305/35/18 for my street car dont know why i never bought drag radials before over the last 96k miles i have driven this car cus i have never had traction before its like having a whole new car

i originally set them at 25psi and went out around town and they hook great and then went on the hwy and the car was very floaty like i was on ET streets or slicks, i dont like that for street driving at hwy speeds

what do you guys run yours at, im not looking for a race situation setting more of a daily driving situation

thanks

Went I had them, 24-26 PSI for the normal driving.
They float. The sidewalls are soft.

I run my 27x11.5x15 Hoosier QTP's at 22PSI for the trip to and from the track.

I have mine at 23psi cold on the street, 17-20psi hot at the dragstrip.

i bumped the psi up to 30 to see how that does the car is still floats but its better than before, i just never heard of anyone ever say the drag radials float before, i probably would not have bought them if i knew they were gonna float, but with the way i drive im sure these wont last long

The floating feeling you're experiencing is due to the softer sidewall compared to a normal radial tire. You'll get used to it. If you keep yours at 30psi you will wear out the centers of the tires in no time...just FYI from previous experience with nittos.

I've got the same 305/35r18s an noticed the same floating. I run mine at 26psi and over the last 1000 miles or so I've become used to it. My Nittos never did that. I'll take that little problem in exchange for full use of 1st gear
