13 Insane Engine Swaps Because You Can!
Is there anything more American than taking a normal, everyday car, and swapping in some big, ridiculous engine? I don’t think so!
In this video (with clips from around the world) 13 totally ridiculous and insane engine swaps are highlighted for your entertainment. Some of them you have have seen before, but I’m willing to bet there are a few surprises in there.

The video starts out with a 4×4 Nissan Patrol that happens to have a RB25DET engine under the hood. It sounds so crazy coming from a vehicle that looks like that. There’s also a VW Lupo, which is not a big car, that has two V6 engines in it that make 600 horsepower. Of course, I think my personal favorite is the Smart Fortwo with the Hayabusa engine in it. If I were to buy a Smart, that’s exactly what I’d want to do to it!
This video has something for everyone, though. If your tastes include big V8s, there’s a Porsche 911 with a Chevy 406 in it. If your tastes swing towards Italian in flavor, there’s a Fiat 500 with a 3.0L Ferrari V8 in it. A mid-engined Fiat 500 with Ferrari power? That sounds delicious!
Don’t be surprised that you want to go swap something crazy into your daily driver after watching this. Everyone’s done the Flying Miata V8 swap, but how many have a supercharged V8 in a Honda S2000? I thought so!
