With a supercharged LS3 motor, this Chevrolet Camaro SS looks like its ready to break necks.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS is already a head-turning icon. But this one, featured by ScottieDTV underwent some extra TLC with builder Steve HolcombHowever, Holcomb was only the last in a long line of hands to touch the SS. In total, Steve says that the owner has been working on this 1st Gen Camaro for more than nine years. Of course, that also means the SS has some great upgrades, and it’s obvious some love went into this build.

The drop-top Chevrolet Camaro SS is motivated by a Magnum 2.3-liter supercharged LS3 V8 motor. However, specifics are light. According to Holcomb, the supercharger features a cog drive to let out some more of that characteristic whine, and it’s clear the motor is freshly built and the bay shaved. Beyond that, not even power outputs are mentioned. However, the owner of Steve Holcomb Pro Auto Custom Interiors does say that the car was more than willing to get loose when he drove it.

Other mechanical changes include a new 6-speed manual transmission, brakes, wheels, a Detroit front end, and a set of cams for that huge V8. This Chevrolet Camaro SS sounds as aggressive as it looks, too, with what sounds like an aftermarket exhaust. There’s plenty of chop from the V8, and it probably sounds even better at the limit.

The interior is shown the same amount of love as the powertrain, having been totally redone by Holcomb. Notably, it also features modern infotainment integrated into the front of the center console. The seats are new with perforated leather inserts, and small aluminum accents add some contrast to the black-on-black interior.

Holcomb did the trunk to match, and the original gauges look to have been retained- a nice retro touch in what is otherwise a fully restomodded interior. It’s clear a group of people helped steward this car through its long, nine-year build process, and it’ll be exciting to finally have the car on the road.
