360-Degree Camera Captures Corvette and GT-R Roll Racing Action

Doing 100 rolls in the desert is all par for the course with these high roller Kuwaiti street racers.

Want to go fast, but don’t have anywhere to go? Join the club. Well, not this club, because these racers, based in Kuwait, have all the open road you can imagine. And, boy, do they really take advantage of it.

This video features an R35 Nissan GT-R with the AMS Performance Alpha 12X package, which makes a claimed 1,400 horsepower. That built up Nissan is running against a C6 Corvette Z06, which has been twin-turbocharged to also produce 1,400 horsepower.

The resulting race is wild to watch for multiple reasons. Sure, the GT-R absolutely smashes the ‘Vette, but the spectacle of it all is what we are interested in. It appears that the GT-R has a 360-degree camera mounted on it’s roof, and is able to pivot around, showing just how badly it whipped the Z06.

Of course, that’s not the end of it, because a spectator (and there are a lot of spectators lined up), captured the outside view, which really shows the scale of the racing. The video says that the race started from 100 MPH, and lasted approximately half a mile. That GT-R is also equipped with a datalogger setup, which, if accurate, says that the two cars hit over 217 MPH by the end of the run. Looking back at the exterior footage is wild. It’s not often spectators sit just feet away from cars doing these sorts of speeds.
