World's Fastest Drag Radial Car

We all know that Camaros are amazing. From the first to the latest generations, they have never ceased to be brilliant, unique, and fast as hell.

So for all of us Camaro and LS fanatics out there, this is a story you’ll love. Why? because a fourth generation Chevrolet Camaro is the world’s fastest Drag Radial car. Well, at least when it comes to the quarter mile!

And for those who are curious, the competing car (which this one smokes!) is a fifth generation Mustang. That’s right, a Mustang. Was it even competition to begin with?

In order to qualify as a drag radial, a vehicle must run on regular gasoline, ride on Drag Radial tires, and be made of a primarily stock chassis and interior. They are also not allowed to have an engine larger than a 588 cubic inches, though they can have a single turbocharger or a supercharger.

So, basically, a drag radial car is a vehicle that started as a stock ride and was modified endlessly into a otherworldly beast.

Now, I know what you’ve been waiting for! The car puts out 2,000 (yes, TWO THOUSAND) horsepower and is powered by a PLR 5″ B.S. Billet engine. The driver at the record breaking event was a man by the name of Roger Holder, and we will all continue to harbor some jealousy against him. After all, even with a highly tuned mile time it is very, very hard to attain the time that he did just a few days ago!

And what time was that? A 6.12 second quarter mile run at 244 miles per hour. Now we need to watch him to see if he’ll be able to break into the five second category.
