The Chevy SS Might Be Getting Some Handling Upgrades
Did you all remember that Chevy still makes the SS sedan? No, well don’t fret about that, because really neither does Chevy. Since the cars introduction last year, it hasn’t had the best of times in terms of sales numbers.
However, after getting a 6-speed manual transmission late last year, there has been a small uptick in sales. That said, there seems to be more rumors about the car coming out of Chevy.
According to MotorTrend, many of the Chevy engineers want to throw the Camaro SS 1LE handling package onto the sedan to make it a bit more livelier around a track.
The SS would ditch the conventional suspension in lieu of the 1LE’s Performance Ride and Handling suspension, which includes front and rear sway bars, unstaggered wheels, and some better tires.
All of which sounds fabulous, but I’d also like to see Chevy add a bit more power possibly from the same engine that can be found in the Z/28. It’s not like the Australian Holden version didn’t get more horsepower. They even got a supercharged version.
Hopefully Chevy will continue making the SS for a few years so we can at least get a few more variations of the car throughout its life cycle.
