LS motors don’t just power the greatest cars in the world, they also power dreams, hope and progress. If that sounds like a stretch, just take one look at the new COPO Camaro. With just 69 models being built, this hand-built drag car is in high demand, and GM is using that demand to raise money for the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans. The very first production car to be created will be auctioned off with every penny of the proceeds heading to the charity.

The car wears the serial number 2015COPO001 and it will be auctioned by Barrett Jackson this Friday, April 18. With 555 horsepower flowing from its supercharged 350 ci LSX V8, all being sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission, this machine can blast the quarter mile in the 8-second range.

This hand-built racer is fully prepared for NHRA racing and you can hop right in and compete in your local drag series with no extra steps needed aside from finding your fire suit and helmet. With such a low production volume, this auction may actually be your best chance to own one of these incredible cars, and all the money you pay goes to help a very worthy cause.

I told you the LS also powered dreams, hope and progress.
