Believe me, since Pontiac’s demise and the ensuing disappearance of the Aussie imported GTO and G8, a little part of me frowned.

The brand sold slowly as it steadily sputtered its way into non-existence, but something about the big, heavy Australian imports with their comically large horse power numbers and basic implementations of go-fast technology just won a special place in my heart.

But their timing was terrible. Both models were  introduced when gas prices were causing uproar and the recession was encouraging a strong move away from the V8 performance sedan/coupe.

So when GM announced the coming of their new Chevrolet SS, admittedly I was more than happy. And to see how happy this car could possibly make me, here’s a great top-down review of the SS from the good people at Jalopnik.

Overall, they give the SS a 70/100 – just a fair rating. Good, but not stellar by any means. It’s a theme that stays consistent – The Chevrolet SS isa very specific car at a very specific price point, for a very specific person. Click here to read more!
