Since the average, non-irradiated, human being can’t see through solid objects, cutaways give us the ability to see what goes on inside of otherwise impenetrable objects. Like the pictures in Haynes manual. Things are so much easier to understand when you can see them yourself.
GM gave us a peak inside a few of their engines at the LA Auto Show. There were some Duratechs (yawn) and V6s (boooring), but I just stuck to the fun stuff. Unsurprisingly, it’s really difficult to tell the LS3 apart for the LS7 like this. See if you can spot the differences between them.
