Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is at it again with more go-fast parts for modern GM muscle. In this case, a high capacity aluminum intercooler heat exchanger and twin electric fan kit for the 2009 – 2014 Cadillac CTS-V. The kit replaces the factory intercooler and is designed to provide improved intercooler fluid cooling.

“Our intercooler improves airflow to the engine radiator and reduces fluid temperatures, which, in turn, improves engine cooling and increases horsepower,” said Mike Copeland, vice president and general manager, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. “The high capacity heat exchanger can be used with the stock or higher output intercooler fluid pumps,” said an LPE representative.

The larger intercooler features an innovative front-to-back, double pass design. The large size provides increased fluid capacity and a larger cross section provides room for two, heavy-duty, 11-inch, temperature controlled, two-speed, SPAL fan assemblies.

“An optional fan and intercooler pump manual override kit allows the user to manually override the fans and intercooler pump. Beneficial to drag racers, the override allows the intercooler pump and fans to be used to cool the intercooler between runs,” said Copeland,” said an LPE representative.

The high-capacity intercooler kit also comes with LPE’s new Temperature Based Relay Controller that is designed to control two relays based on temperature sensor readings. It

independently activates the relays for the twin fans and the intercooler fluid pump–meaning the fans are only on when they’re needed. The controller can also be used to activate intercooler water spray based on air temperature or alcohol injection based on intercooler temperature. The included wiring harness has provisions for optional manual relay override controller with time delay. This allows intercooler coolant to circulate and run the fans after shut down to help reduce supercharger temperatures in between runs.
