The new 6th-generation Camaro is one of the most eagerly anticipated muscle cars to come out in a long time. The old Zeta platform is gone, replaced by the new Alpha platform that underpins the new ATS-V. Chevy is already talking about how the company shed at least 390 pounds of weight for the new car. However, one key detail has been missing since we learned of the new Camaro. The performance.

Now though, Chevy has finally given us a taste of what’s to come. Here’ are some of the new specs for the 6th-generation Camaro.

For the 2.0L turbo four, 0-60 mph takes just 5.4 seconds for the manual, and 5.5 for the auto. It can also crank out a 14-second quarter mile at 100 mph. For the 3.6L V6, 0-60 takes 5.2 seconds in the manual, and 5.1 seconds in the auto. The quarter mile is done in 13.7 seconds at 103 mph. Now though for the main event, the SS.

The new 6.2L LT1 powered Camaro SS takes only 4.3 seconds to get to 60 with the manual, and 4 seconds flat in the auto. The quarter mile blitzs by in just 12.3 seconds at 116 mph. That’s seriously fast for a normal Camaro.

If these are the performance figures for the bog standard Camaro, we can’t wait to see what Chevy has in store for us later.
