RIDE ON! A 1968 Pontiac GTO Clone

Classic muscle is certainly one of the most outstanding, impressive, and amazing things to ever have graced our planet. These gas-guzzling, tire-burning, ground-vibrating machines are truly wonderful creations, and we don’t know what we’d do without them.

Even though the modern machines aren’t quite the same, we are happier that the Golden Era of muscle cars existed, and that it has continued to impact car production up until this day. After all, where would we be without a 650 horsepower 2016 Corvette to rumble down the road? Or the 455 horsepower Camaro? The reality is that classic muscle cars shaped the car world into what it is today, and we will be forever grateful for that.

Today we’ll be stepping into the garage of LS1Tech member the450r and taking a closer look at this fantastic classic muscle car that lies within!

The450r is the proud owner of a 1968 Pontiac Lemans, which now functions as a wonderful GTO clone, and it is certainly gorgeous. He has put a ton of work into it, which has been detailed on his build thread.

The ride originally started with a 350 cubic inch motor and an automatic transmission, but the450r decided to convert it over to an LS1 motor and T56 transmission from a 2001 Camaro. If that isn’t a worthy swap, then we don’t know what is! What’s even more impressive is that he stated in hisĀ build thread that this was “his first post, his first car, and his first fuel injected retrofit.”
