More Than a Straight Line: 2002 Camaro SS

Many people assume that the fourth generation Camaro is good for nothing but straight lines down the quarter mile. However, when done right these F-Bodies can hang with the best from Europe around the road course. Of course that rap is why The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah doesn’t care too much for it and the generations before it. This one, though, has made him question his hate.

This is no ordinary LS1-powered SS, either, as the LS1 has been modified to LS6 intake, cam, and heads to match the Stage II T56 bolted behind it. It’s also more than just engine modifications as it is also equipped with select parts from Eibach and 305-width tires all around. Yes, he’s running 12-inch wide tires on both the front and rear! It needs it since it should match the pure rumbling sound of the SLP exhaust system.

Take a listen for yourself as Matt Farah drives it around on the canyon. That 500-flywheel horsepower sure sounds nice right about now.
