Vengeance Racing Camaro ZL1 Makes Over 800 WHP on the Dyno

Modified Camaro ZL1 sounds like a symphony of very angry chainsaws.

We love the sound of a bone-stock Camaro ZL1. But you know what’s better than that? One with an even bigger blower. That’s why we can’t stop drooling over this video of a 2018 ZL1 1LE on the dyno at Vengeance Racing. The clip is short, but there’s nothing to distract from what we all came to see: Incredible power numbers, and an unbelievable engine note.

In the lower gears, the 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger all but drowns out the big V8. But once the pedal falls to the floor, we hear a symphony of chainsaws that we’d never get sick of. Unfortunately, we don’t get a chance to see it on the street (that’s reserved for videos like this), but we get an eyeful of numbers that make this car one of the coolest modern Camaros out there.

Vengeance Racing's 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1-1LE.

For starters, this black car is running on 93 octane. The supercharger is running 14psi of boost. Ahead of the supercharger, there’s a cold air intake, ported LT4 cylinder heads, and a beefier cam. It also has a new exhaust and headers, an ATI Performance balancer and lower pulley, an upgraded heat exchanger, and custom valve covers.

The end result is 831 horses sent to the rear wheels. Unfortunately, we don’t get a look at things like the interior, transmission, or rear end. Still, Vengeance Racing is known for its top-notch builds. Since it’s located in Cumming, Georgia, we’re assuming that this Camaro is prowling around somewhere down South. So if you’re at a drag strip somewhere down there and pull up next to a Camaro that looks like this one, you might want to think again.
