The awesome that is the LS motor never ceases to amaze me. Naysayers told GM that the pushrod motor would die decades ago, but thanks to copious amounts of engineering from some of the industry’s best and here we are, 2014 and the pushrod LS motors are not only still kickin’, but they’re kickin’ a$$!
I’ll admit that there are more efficient motors, higher-revving examples and more exotic bullets, but when it comes to power per dollar, the LS line of motors is legendary–especially the almighty LS9. That’s why I really enjoyed this 3D assembly video illustration followed by a 3D modeling of said motor running–it’s dang cool!
