Corvette Z06 versus McLaren MP4-12C on the Street
The new Z06 is a monster of a car with that new supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 dumping 650 horsepower and 650 pounds of twist to the rear wheels. With that much grunt, the Z06 is quite the fast machine and it has been finding itself in numerous racing battles the world over.
From GT-Rs and Ferraris, to Lamborghinis and Porsches, everyone wants a piece of the Z06 pie. Each needs to prove it can still defeat the new supercar from America. This latest video is a rolling race between a new C7 Z06 and a McLaren MP4-12C.
Sadly, this little scuffle doesn’t end well for the Corvette, but there are a lot of reasons for that. For starters, the Vette in question is a manual model, which will hurt it in scenarios like this, and secondly, the McLaren has been tuned by AMS, so it’s making more power and torque than a base car. Also, the McLaren initiates the race so it has a slight reaction advantage over the Corvette as well. Still, you can’t win them all. What do you guys think, was this a fair fight and the driver just let the Vetted down, or was this a run that could not be won?
