Zora Would be Proud of This Mid-Engine Corvette
We’ve been inundated with more rumors and swirling information about how Chevy is finally cooking up a mid-engine Corvette for what seems like decades.
Now however, those rumors appear to be finally coming to fruition. That said, there still isn’t a lot known about Chevy’s plans for the next generation Corvette.
However, to wet our insatiable mid-engine appetites, the folks over at Supercars America Inc have come up with just the right solution.
This is the C2 Corvette V7. From its exterior, it looks pretty much like a normal C2. Maybe it’s been a bit poked and prodded in a few places, but overall, it’s a C2 Corvette.
However, underneath the shiny exterior is the beating heart that will scare the ever living hell out of you.
Mounted directly behind the driver, on a custom tube frame is a 5.7L LS1 that’s fed by a pair of turbos, all of which culminates in more than 1,000 horsepower and 982 lb-ft of torque.
The entire car gets up and goes at insane speeds thanks to a sequential transmission that are operated by a set of paddles behind the steering wheel.
This car is actually going up for auction this weekend at Auctions America’s Fort Lauderdale event, so you might have to start thinking about possibly breaking open your piggy banks now.
