Default Hit 10's today!

I hit the track today for the second time in my car and got a 10.91@125 on my third pass. I took it out a couple of weeks ago and couldn't hook at all and only hooked on one pass today. The pass I hooked it actually bounced my head off of the roll bar and pulled my foot off the gas but still managed to get in to the 10's. Hopefully I can get the car to hook and with cooler weather get her down a couple of tenths.

My race weight was around 3700lbs and I'm running on 17's.

Here's how it went.

60' 1.584
330' 4.511
1/8th 6.981
mph 99.60
1000 9.112
1/4 10.916
mph 125.12

I have had my 402 for over 3 years and probably about 7k-8k miles. It runs really strong but it has used a lot of oil since the day I put it in. You can actually smell the oil blowby after you do a pull.

Are you running a TSP camshaft? I am.

Lately, Ive read a few negative things like this about TSP shortblocks. I know I wont be going there for a shortblock.

nice runs.

Congratulations on the ten 10 second pass man!

I have a 403 LS2 stroker in my 98 Z and I run VERY similar times as well.
-I have managed to run a 10.993 at 125.61 mph pass with a 1.659 60' time!

What heads are you using if I may ask?
And are you running the diamond -2cc flat top pistons as well?
Very interested as to what your setup is. I know mine is a very simple setup and I too run a cam with almost the exact specs as the TSP Giant. It's a custom grind from Thunder Racing...

I think I'm running the -10cc Diamond's but it's been so long I'm not sure. My heads are the PRC stage 3 ls6 heads for texas speed.

oh ok, I was just wondering as I have the -2 cc diamond flat top pistons in mine. But my heads are stock ls6 heads. So I was trying to see if the shortblocks were setup the same or not. Since our setups are almost identical, I feel my setup (as well as yours) are well matched setups!

Theres something about the 402's with ls6 heads on them that seem to make great power. Obviously an AFR or TFS head package would increase the power, but the ls6 heads perform very well imho.

Good Luck and congrats man!

James
