Default A couple things for a 10 second pass

#1 What kind of roll cage is required for 10s? Im from California and I wanna run a 5 pt rollcage from DOM steel(Im unsure what this means, but I was told chromemoly or just a better steel?) anyways I was told under 11.49 I will need a 5pt rollcage and its good til 10.00s

is this accurate?

what about relocating my battery, why do I need a switch?

what kind of harness is going to be necessary

I will have my stocker 3pt, but also have a 5 pt harness installed, how should these be installed? from the bar or the ground?

lastly, a rough estimate, what will I be running in a M6, 3.73 camaro making over 470rwhp? the weight should be right at 3400lbs without the driver included 250lbs...

I used to be lighter, but the cage will add eight unforunately...

I know with 364rwhp , slicks and skinnys on bogarts, I ran a 7.84 @ 89.25mph in the 1/8th...

So Im sure that was close to a 12.0 - 11.99 pass or so.... I was cutting high 1.6 . 60's

how much do you think Ill improve my 60's with over 100whp?

Thanks for all the help....

You'll need a 6pt roll bar idk about the steel I did cromemoly, If you move you battery to the back you will need a kill switch. The shoulder straps for the harness sould be bolted to the roll bar. You'll also need a sfi racing jacket, helmet, longer wheel studs if your running drag rims, trans shield or blanket, sfi flex plate and balancer. As far as your time goes idk you'll have to see if you can still hook with the extra 100hp.

Is it a 5pt minimum for 10s or do you have to have a 6pt?

the only difference between a 5 and 6 point cage is the slung bar on the passenger side. Your correct all you need is a 5 point....until you start knocking on the 9's. Race jacket, blanket/scatter shield, dot/snell approved helmet etc etc is also needed and up to date harnesses are also needed....I might be forgetting a few things

dont forget the drive shaft drive shaft loop, snell 2000 or better helmet, sfi 3.2A/1 jacket, if you reloacted the battery to the back you have to also have a battery box, the blue morroso box is the best imo and is nhra cert

I was going to add that. The tech inspector got on my case about it last trip to the track. I kinda thought WTF? No track has ever harrassed me about that until now.

I'm hoping that I can get away with my current rubber ones until it's time for new tires.

Tubes come with metal valve stems, but you have to drill out the hole alittle before bringing them to a tire shop cause they wont do it for liability purposes. Saves you from 2 trips to the tire shop

These rules are gay!

some of them, then again I dont blame them. a lot of shitty ricers go and spill oil at the track ruining it for us...

Will 480rwhp @ 3650 raceweight(with me in it) and 3.73s on slicks and skinnys run 10s???

the 480rwhp is an estimate and my car maaaay weigh less than 3650, if Im lucky...

probably at a 3390 now and Im 265lbs... Im also gonna put in a rollcage, but maybe do some other stuff to save weight.

these rules are there for a reason ......i really would not want my driveshaft to go through my floor or my car or clucth go through in to the cabin of the car .....it happened to a friend of mine his clutch went into the car and cut his break pedal off !!!! when you go this fast saftey should be first
