Figured I'd update this thread again since I've improved to the point that hopefully the next time I'll be posting in the 10's thread!
More boost and more tuning have made even more improvements. I'm surprised the stock engine has come this far with boost. I still haven't upgraded anything in the engine because I wanted to see how far I could take it before something mechanical failed or showed signs of failing. I have a spare long block mostly assembled with valve springs and a cam ready to go in when it does happen.
A few weeks later I went out to try for a 10 and wasn't able to do it. I was having issues spinning and the air was terrible.
I did manage to push some water and so I had to tear the engine down to swap out the stock composite head gaskets to some Felpro MLS gaskets. Hopefully they hold up.
