No sticky tire as of yet. I'm to worried about snapping the little 10 bolt lol. One I change that I'll throw on a slick. What tire/wheel combo are you running? Im sure I'll remember after you tell me again, I just do feel like looking back lol
So you still got the 10 bolt back there. Hey, if it's lasted with the power you have your doing it right. It'll be sweet when you get to the next point.

I'm on ccw lm20 wheels. 18 inch. Got nitto nt555r on back. 305/40 18.

I am surprised you're still in 3rd going through the traps though, but you did say your tires are closer to 28".
Thanks spider. Right on. Clicking off the 11 was cool. The RST is a good clutch. Sometimes I think the pedal is too easy lol. I would buy another one. Yup, as you said, the rear tires are pretty big. When I had the street tires on, closer to 26" tire, I was still going through it third gear. Although over 7k rpm. Maybe 7100-7200. Found it was better than to shift basically right before the trap.

You have a Strange 12 bolt right? How do you like it? I'd really prefer a 12 bolt, but with a M6 I hear it's not the best choice

Correct. It's been perfect. Very happy with it. Like you say. With an m6 car, on spray also, for drag launches it usually won't end well. I guess it all depends on how hard you're going to hit it. I know of one car on the net, a 10 sec fbody, on a 12 bolt, doing like 6k clutch dumps & lifting the front wheels good. After a while things did start breaking. Can't remember details.

I really like how the 12 bolt draws the least power and is the most direct fit, but if I'm spending 2-3k for a rear I also want it to last for a long damn time lol. With spray and 4.10's if I was ever able to completely hook I think I'd be in serious trouble lol

From what I understand the 12 bolt strange is generally fine behind a manual. Supposedly moser uses a stock housing adapted to a torque arm whereas the strange uses a new housing built for it

Yep I've heard that as well, but from what I've seen the issue goes even deeper than that. Basically from I hear, it doesn't matter how you build it, the 12 bolt ring and pinion can't take the massive hit from a high powered M6 car without some distortion over time. Even Mark Williams told me anything over 450 rwhp on M6 f-body, he'd r eccommend the 9" or S60 if you are going to launch it hard

I heard most issues were from the housing flexing. A ford 8.8 is basically a copy of the 12 bolt and nobody questions the durability of those for the most part

The Pontiac 9.3" design is the best with a torque arm because the torque arm can't really distort the ring and pinion alignment at all

Yeah Idk man, I'd really prefer to run a good 12 bolt over the others, but the issues I've seen time and time again can't be ignored either.

9 inch and be done with it. Worth the different in power consumption to not have to worry about issues later.

I have a 9".......it's the good. I thought it was gonna use up all muh bolt on powers but it turned out ok. Best mph to best mph was only changed by .7

And that's easily acceptable for being able to drive to the track and back if i want......and did.

I desperately want to waste my money on a Hawks 3rd Gen 8.8 and then regret it later. But every time I mention that I get yelled at here. Seems like the best rear for a mild car that will likely never see 450+. Uses little power and holds up. Nothing but an S60 will ever be an S60. But I dont need it and to soak up all the power while jacking my rear height up....???? Pointless.

Nice work OP.

I have work to get done now so I am trying desperately NOT to google what a fng Pontiac 9.3 is big hammer.
