Default So close.....yet so far!!!

Alright here is the deal...........I have a 2000 C5 with H/C etc. and its lowered so my front spoiler that hangs down in front makes me deep stage every time! I can't remove it because my car has a ram air setup that the front spoiler helps redirect the air up into! Anyway....

I ran my best today with my new setup and could only muster a 12.2X at 119mph. However, I couldn't get better than 2.0 60ft times. I tried all kinds of different launches on my DR's from 3000rpm clutch dumps to 5000rpm clutch rolls.

I think my next mod is the driver mod.

Seriously though, isn't 119mph trap speed more than enough to get me deep into the 11's? WTF?

I have an LS6 intake sitting in my garage. I'm gonna toss that bitch on and maybe add some spray. This is rediculous...........

Any Ideas???

The LS6 intake will help by 0.1 and 1mph or more.
119 mph is good for mid 11's.
Keep practicing that will make the most difference.

Definitely should be in mid 11s with 119 mph.

What brand of DRs? What PSI? How old are tires?

As stated, practice launching, practice, and practice some more.

I bought them brand new last year and they only have maybe 20 passes on them. They are the 315 BFG DR's that I run on heavy *** 11x17 ZR1 wheels. My best time was ran with them at 16-17psi, but they still produced 2.2 60' times.

What do you guys think about my car deep staging every time? Would that effect the times that much?

I do a 2nd gear burnout and roast them for a good 10 seconds........

I've heard that you don't need to do a super huge burnout to get them to stick. And then I've heard others say the same thing you just did.

Do you think the ZR1 weight has anything to do with it? I wouldn't think it would...........

Weight is always a factor in Drag Racing, no matter what the case is. Get lighter, go faster, add weight, slow down. I agree with AOC that you probably need to practice launching over and over again, until you feel that YOU have it right. Try dropping the tire pressure down a little it more. It would not hurt to experiment with that also. The extra roll out distance of the lowered front spoiler is not costing you 3 tenths of a second.

I'm gonna try to hit the track again on Friday and work on my 60' times. If I can get the 60' times down, I know I'll have my 11 second time slip.

Deep staging should only effect you R/T.

Have you ever considered suspension upgrades? Your stock will do good only so long, and then after a point it will hold you back. Try, adj LCA,SFC,QA1 Front shocks,Adj Tq Arm, Adj Panhard. And you shoud be within the 1.5 range
