to get into the 11's...
i am looking for a 2000+ ss. what would it take to get the same performance out of the mighty ls1. i want to be able to do it with no NOS/turbo/super. that will be for the 10's. it will be my everyday driver just like my cobra was. i WANT a nasty cam. something when you here it, you know its not stock, but something that is possible for everyday and it wont be dieing all the times at idle, every now and then is OK.
and why are 80% of these cars A4's? i am going to be getting an M6. that is the t56 tranny right? good tranny, the same in my cobra. why is the majority a A4 with a big stall???
thanks for the info, and i cant wait to be converted BACK to a bowtie!!!

Most guys here drag race, which is why there are so many A4s. In GM's infinite wisdom, they continued using a 10 bolt rear for the LS1 F-bodies. A stock M6 with drag radials can snap one easily. I strayed from this route due primarily to this expensive obstacle to overcome (12 bolt or 9"), and also after reading about several issues with the hyd. clutch.
what are the main differanes betwwen 01-02 and the rest. i know the 01-02's have the ls6 manifold, but i was unaware of any other changes.
and i am in so cal, so the air isnt that bad.

The rear is the weakest link in the entire car. After you tackle it, I would say that the clutch with its hydraulic problems and driveshaft would come next. Once you get those out of the way, run through the bolt-ons, then add the cam and some suspension work, and you'll be in business.
