Default New bests, but...

car feels lazy as fawk off the line.

Previous best was 11.484 @ 121.26 on a spinning 1.729 sixty foot.

That pass was on well-worn 255/50-16 MT DR's mounted on 16X8 firebird wheels. 1/2 tank of gas, my front QA1's set on 4, the left rear set on 3, and the left rear set on 4. I also had an extra 50lbs of ballast in the spare tire well.

Since then I put a set of 275/60-15 MT DR's on my Welds, removed the ballast, set all of my QA1's on 3, and had a full tank of gas.

I made two passes Wed night: 11.413 @ 121.37 - 1.769 sixty foot, and a 11.313 @ 120.93 - 1.704 sixty foot. The faster pass, it did not spin at all. First pass, it might have spun a hair - then fell on it's face.

I'm thinking my converter might be too tight now, and the tire killed too much gear.

No one has any suggestions?

I have 3.73 gears, a SY3500 converter and make mid 400 RW #'s. I'm not saying the car should be doing 1.3xx 60 foot times, but you'd think it would be capable of some 1.5's.

The car with just bolt ons, 3.42's, same converter and 2550/50-16 MT DR's went a best of 1.74 in the 60'

It's hard for me to swallow that I add more suspension, over 100 more RWHP & TQ, more gear & tire... and only pick up roughly .05 at the 60' marker. Yet, I am about one second faster on the other end in less than ideal weather.

Why don't you tell us more about your combo..heads ,cam ect? If you have a high rpm cam and that tight converter ,certainly it will be a pig off the line. You can adjust all the suspension **** you want. Stock suspension is good for 1.5s easily with a decent tire.Sounds like you need a SS4000 for spray or PT4400 if you want max effort NA.

Out of the box AFR 205's, small cam... bigger than a TR224, smaller than a Thunder TraK cam. HP peaks about 6200-6300, TQ peaks at 4800. Last dyno with 4.10's was 451/423, too much gear - went down to 3.73's - no redyno since then.

The only thing I see that you can improve on is the removal of the front sway bar. Mine is off and with less mods than yours I lift the front tires nearly every launch on the slicks.

That's what !front sway bar stands for in my list. It's been off of the car for about 3 years now.
