Supossedly, the road racing guys claim it vents the air from the rear cylinders faster and helps prolong the life of the #7 hole.

maybe someone could help me understand what the point is in grinding those fins... when i put my LS6 intake manifold on there was a metal tune in the front under the TB that had a rubber hose coming off of it, and on the back of the block there were 2 plugs. the small black tubes under the manifold i just left as is. i didn't have any kind of fitment issues or anything.
so, how come you grind the fins?

My FAST doesn't have the foam pieces, I say chunk 'em.
