Coil swap yields 9.25 HP and 18.6 TQ
The first pull came in at (SAE rated) 264.45 HP and 274.41 TQ.
The ONLY change I did for this test was to swap out the stock LS1 ignition coils to the big truck 6.0 coils with the heat sinks. I had the coils assembled on the correct brackets along with the correct coil wiring harnesses and the swap took about ten minutes. Not having the A.I.R piping in the way made the change easy. The fuel stuff on the left side is a bit in the way but for testing purposes, one bolt to the valve cover held it in place.
We waited a few minutes to get the temperature back to where we started the first pull at.
The result: 273.70 HP and 293.01 TQ. HP increase of 9.25 and TQ increase of 18.6.
Pretty well worth it I’d say! I’m gonna keep these things.
AND, the ride home showed better throttle response. It just felt crisper and reacted quicker on the highway.
Every book and website that discusses LS coils says they’re all the same yet look different due to the supplier. Has anybody done a back to back test like this?

I had done this swap on my '94 LT1 with the LTCC kit and the response and driveability improvements were the same. I had never dyno'd it but it was surely a bit more powerful. On THAT car the swap was made from new LS1 coils to the truck coils. I suppose this means that I had done the comparison with new LS1 coils?

Nice to see a side-by-side like that. 
for your coil swap, did you use your stock coil bracket? Or did you have to use another coil bracket for the 6.0 coil packs?
Also are the coils plug-n-play with out harness?
Can you PM me some more info? There is a reason why turbo guys are using these coil packs
The LS1 coil brackets will not mount the truck coils.
The LS1 coil wiring harnesses will NOT work as the plugs and pin-outs on the coil end is different. The coil harness to engine harness plug is the same and the new harness will plug in directly.
The truck coil brackets are 10457736, 2 needed.
The LS2 wiring harnesses are 12601824, 2 needed.
The coils are 10457730 (AC D585), 8 needed.
GM/Chevy trucks had several different coils and brackets so be careful. These coils are the ones with the heat sink on the backside. Brackets from other coils will not fit.
On the the LS1 F-body cars, the A.I.R. piping will be in the way. On the passenger side, the fuel line and solonoid will be in the way. A little fanageling will be needed to get it in.
I had a set of LS7 spark plug wires laying around and they fit & look nicely.
