If they come with the truck wire harness, no, its plug and play. Just unplug the LS1 coils at the main harness plug near the fuel rail, then remove them off the covers. You will have a tight space to work in on the back of the covers. Then you will just need to do the coil relocation or the fule rail bend on the driver side, and the evap move on the front of the fuel rail. I did my swap in about an hour and half. It can be faster, but I took my time to make sure I did everything correctly and nice.

I have an update on this. I’ve finally sent my computer to the fine fellers at PCMforless for a tune. While they did their usual magic, they also added tunings to take advantage of the better dwell abilities of the truck coils.
I for one will say that PCMforless has come through with a great tune for me. The car has never run so good. I’m certain that having the truck coils with a proper tune for them helped.
