Talked to procharger at super chevy show and noticed truck coils on there promod! Ask them about them and he was surprised i noticed! He said they tested every coil made and it was the best one they found and they are good for 200,000 miles. They were on a 6 sec 1/4 mile car!

they told me what i already knew lol

If you get some just be careful who you buy them from. The first time I went for a set, I was told they were LS2 truck coils with the heatsink and when they arrived they were regular LS2 coils. Had to get rid of them and lost some money.

I am on a second round of trying to get LS2 truck coils and sent out the payment ($145.00 shipped) and was asked to notify the sender when payment was sent. I did do that. It has now been 5 or 6 days and I still have not heard if my payment was received or if they shipped at all. Nothing, nada, no contact at all even after 2 separate e-mails. If I knew the status I would not be as concerned. I feel if I have to notify that payment was sent I should be notified they got it or the item has been shipped. Sorry for the rant. This is just very aggravating being the 2nd time this has happened. Makes me think I should not buy anything off of this board any more.

just make sure you buy from active members, check trader rating, then join date, then i always go to find all posts and see how often they are on the board. i post almost everyday have been here for 4 years and have absurd trader rating all should signal i wont be a problem. if i just joined had few or no trader rating and never got on i would expect no one to deal with me. of course there are variations between the two extreme examples but it doesnt take much effort to make sure you dont get burned...

Well, the guy I bought them from has a trader rating of 20 and everyone of them were positive. That was the reason I purchased them because his TR was great. He joined in Aug. of 06 and has hundreds of posts. I figured all would be good. I guess I was wrong...

Here are the pics of mine. You cant see the harness too well, but the only diffrence of the car and truck harness is the conectors at the end. The female conector is diffrent on the car than the truck coils.

this swap looks fairly easy. I'm just confused about the wiring harness. Will I have to splice and cut any wires?

If you haven't seen it, there is a video in this thread where an LS2 & a truck coil were compared; each had a longer dwell time than the stock LS1. The LS1 wasn't shown tested, but, the auther commented on its' performance. The truck coil had the stronger spark (than the LS2), both were excellent.
Gain peace of mind? I spend money on parts that make me go fast. If parts are weak I look for new ones to replace them. I'm not spending money on something that isn't broken. My plans aren't going to change. Buy bigger injectors up the PSI and re-tune. I should see about 100RWHP more. My motor spins up fine to 8000RPM without any issues everytime without fail. My mind is pretty peacefull right now.

I didn't see the video but as an Electrical Engineer I'd be more than happy to look at the technical data on it. I'll try to find it....too many posts it's hard to find anything in this thread...LOL

Here are the ones I thought I purchased...

The video should be on the first few pages of this thread. I think Megasquirt did the review.

I have PM'ed him twice. Once a couple days ago and once late this morning sometime. I also e-mailed him to let him know his payment was sent and PM'ed him about that too. I feel I am being ignored. I mean if he sold them to someone else then just put my cash back into my PayPal acct. If I do not hear from him by Saturday I am filing a complaint with PayPal and WILL get my money back one way or the other...

I just got contacted by him and he shipped them out Tuesday. Sorry I panicked guys and ranted about it but I really thought I was out 145.00 especially since this is the 2nd go around with coils.

If they come with the truck wire harness, no, its plug and play. Just unplug the LS1 coils at the main harness plug near the fuel rail, then remove them off the covers. You will have a tight space to work in on the back of the covers. Then you will just need to do the coil relocation or the fule rail bend on the driver side, and the evap move on the front of the fuel rail. I did my swap in about an hour and half. It can be faster, but I took my time to make sure I did everything correctly and nice.
