Vortech's new VTS twin screw blower... will they make kits for vettes and camaros?
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...?gik=406&cat=1
it would seem they are developing kits for late model GM trucks with LS motors.
they also have 2.3L and 3.3L systems for LS motor street rods. Sooooo.... that leads me to think "well, if they have systems that fit the LS series motors, can they, or will they fit cars with the ls series motors like the vettes, camaros, GTO's, G8's, etc.
Does anyone know if these twin screw blowers will fit any of these platforms? If they dont make kits, can they be made to fit? I would really like to see if they will fit.

whipple is putting out a kit for the new camaro?? Awesome!! i hadnt heard anything about that.
I was pretty sure that the Vortech twin screw wasnt going to come in kits for the older generation camaroes and vettes. However, i think it would be a big money maker for them to make a kit for the new camaros, vettes, and G-8's.

Then why does it say f-body right next to the kit? There are multiple kits...
Direct cut and paste from the link you ignored... Notice the (F-body). Available in black and polished! Stock bore and 90mm... And an optional 10 rib belt system.

JohnnyGTO, yeah i e-mailed Dustin whipple and he says theyre working on a 2.9L kit. working on a custom Intake mani. what i wanna know is how tall a whipple 2.3L kit is, cant be too much bigger then an mp112. and a 2.3 can push 700+hp on pump. cuz if its not too much bigger might be able to get it to fit. same concept as the mp112 w/ addition of custom motor mounts to drop the engine. GT500 owners do both the k-member spacers as well as the motor mounts to get the 3.4L whipple to fit.

The new Whipple LS1 system has been designed for use in sand rail’s, hot rods, racing and other unique applications. The modular system has been built to work with a variety of applications such as stock GM PCM’s, MEFI4, FAST, Accel DFI and many others. The system also fits in the factory 6-rib belt loop of the truck/SUV as well as the F and Y body vehicles. Whipple also offers an optional 10-rib belt system available for the high HP applications which features a grooved ATI super damper and accessory pulleys.
Read carefully before you criticize - this question has been asked a hundred times here before.

well thats all well and good regarding the whipple, but the original topic was Vortech's new Twin screw blowers.
i wrote them asking if they would be making kits for the new camaro, vette, etc. I never heard back from them. Anyone with any ties to Vortech think they can get some info for us?

So what cars will Vortech's twin screw units fit on?? And dont tell me the ******* Mustang!! If those cars get one more twin screw system available to them, that will make like 10 frigging twin screw systems alone, and i will **** in my hat.
Come on, Vortech!!! Makes some for the LS series motors for God's sake!!

They can't make a kit for a car if the blower won't fit without cutting out the cowl (and possibly the windshield). The Mustang guys have blowers available because their engine valley is deeper and the blower can tuck in there. The stock intake on a mod motor is huge, the LS1 intake is very small and compact, the hoodlines were setup as such.
Why sell a kit that requires massive fabrication to make fit? And, understanding that it takes massive fabrication, why don't you just go buy one and make it fit? Seems simple enough to me.

Do you not realize that the problem is that they WON'T CLEAR THE COWL OR HOOD?

I'm sorry, were you involved in the design, planning, or production of this kit in someway that we dont know about? Do you know the exact dimensions of said kit?? It would appear that a twin screw that fits under the vette's hood has been done by TECHCO. Is it possible that since this kit is new, possibly it would fit under a camaro hood, or a GTO, etc??
Since you are speaking of past kits (whipple, KB), perhaps you shouldnt speak with such authority about a new kit you know nothing about?
At best you are guessing based on previous kits from other companies.
