I finally got the Camaro to the track on Friday. I met up with a friend of mine who drive a turbo Cobalt and he headed out from his place of work in Harlem. Of course i was late so we got stuck in 3 hours of stop and go traffic on I-80. But we still made it in time to get plenty of runs in.
Let me start by saying that Island is a unique track. Definitely would not have found it if my buddy hadn't been there before. Haha. It's definitely converted farmland too. It is kind of a cool place though. Not too many people there too. They also had grudge match lanes too so you can race friends head to head. We spent the whole night running that way pretty much.
I really didn't know what to expect as far as times go but i know i wanted to hit 12's pretty bad. My mods are full exhaust, a lid and the car is lowered on the Eibach Pro-Kit and KYB Adjustables. I was also running on street tires. 275/40R17 Falken Ziex 512's with 25 psi in them.
It was a fairly cold evening, somewhere in the mid to high 40's and track prep wasn't the greatest. I'm used to the street so this was still a learning curve for me. Slipping the clutch and pedaling the gas to get the car to somewhat hook. Anyway let me get to the times.
I actually got a total of 10 passes in that night. My very first run was a 13.3 @ 110 with a 2.3 60ft. Doo doo. I followed that up right after with a 13.09 @ 110 with a 2.1 60ft. Then the rest of the night seemed to filled with low 13 second runs. I wanted 12's really bad. After my friends had started to pack up for the night, i decided to take one more run. I got a decent launch his time and i hit my goal. The very last run of the night. 12.96 @ 111. I cut a 2.0 60ft on this one. I was pretty excited.
All in all it was a great night. No one broke and we all made it home safely with no hang ups. I hit 12's as well as my buddy Paul with his turbo Cobalt. He went 12.84 @114. I am planning on hitting E-Town this Friday for one last trip for the season. Hopefully i will hit some better ET's.

111 is enough MPH for 11s in the right car, mid to low 12s would be too easy for you. Just get some tires.
Here's a video of a friends car, doing what you could easily be doing with some tires.

His car was also running 13.0 w/ 2.1 60s. That pass in the video was a 1.88 60'. Still much room for improvement.

every .10th you knock off of your 60ft you should knock 2 .10ths off of your overall E.T.
with the 2.1 60ft knocked down to a 1.9 you should be right at 12.3xs....get more *** seat time and you'll get there....good luck
