Default First 12 second pass woohoo!

Ran a 12.88 @ 106.7 with a 1.89 60'. Need more seat time to get the 60' down but I'm happy with the E.T. for now. I am concerned about the low mph for the mods I have, what are your thoughts?

Nice run. Congrats. You can change your title by following the instructions in the sticky at the top of the page.

What tires are you using? And I think your handheld tuner leaves a lot on the table. What are your shift points? And what RPM did it make peak power at? Seems to me you just need some more fine tuning to get the car to run better.

I was running BFG drag radials at 14psi. My car is set to shift at 6100. It made peak HP at 6100 and peak TQ at 4000. I have questioned the tune myself, there's only so much a handheld can do. What do you think the shift points should be set at? I have EFILive so I can change them, I went a little conservative to prolong tranny life but didn't think about changing it before going out to run it. When I did the cam I did the 921 springs, guideplates and hardened pushrods so it should be good to rev it out a bit more. I am contemplating getting a full tune, any suggestions on where to go? Thanks for the reply!

How are you launching the car?

I have BFG drag radials also...but around 20-22psi in them and pulling 1.69s on motor... brake stalling up to around 1800rpms then putting a dent in the floor pan when the light drops.

I only got two runs in so I didn't have much seat time to figure out the launch. I hadn't ever run a stall or drag radials at the track before so I didn't really know how to launch it. First run I launched waaaaay to soft from 1000 rpms to flash the converter, and it gave me a 1.94 60'. Second run (and a little more confidence in the drag radials) I went from 1000 rpms and pretty much just nailed it wot. Was going to try to stall it up on the next pass but there was an accident and didn't get a chance to run again.

Oh ok,, I think stalling it up a little bit more might help. Also, not sure if you're getting the most out of that tuner..might be best to step up to a real dyno tune..

I would knock the 1-2 shift up to about 6300-6400, and the 2-3 about the same. Make a pass with it and see if it picks up anything. Just getting a harder launch and adjusting shift points got me 3+ MPH and a little over three and a half tenths improvement.

As for a tune, There are quite a few good tuners in the area - hard to go wrong.
