track results for bolt on LS1
Went to memphis motorsports park last nite and was very pleased with the results. My car is a 98 M6 Z28 with LT header, duals, LS6 intake, ported TB, base tune, 17" MT drag radials and just installed 4:10 gears. I made 2 passes and on the 3rd pass I broke the ring and pinion gear.
first pass
1.79 60'
8.02 at the 8th
12.44 @ 111mph
2nd pass
1.73 60'
7.89 in the 8th
12.31 @110
This was my first time on a 1/4 mile track and was wondering what you guys think. I really dont know what to do about the gear. I think I am just going to put the 3:42 back in it and save for a 12 bolt. I thought the stock 10 bolt would hold a bolt on car but I guess not.

yeah geared 10 bolt with sticky tires dont last very long. Pretty good runs and you definetly should save for a rear, theres no point in investing in something thats always gonna break.

Yea I honestly think it would go quicker but its crossing the traps close to 6 grand. Its full weight and running some 17" ZR1's. I had my car dynoed a month ago and it was running a little rich after about 5 grand. I happy tho just going to take it easy and save for a 12 bolt.

My best time is a 12.3 @ 115 with a 1.9 60... I too need a 12 bolt and 4.10s.. And 11s here i come ...... But it all takes $$$$

Sorry to hear about the 10-bolt-grenade, but never-the-less those are some nice ETs for an M6 trapping 110-111! Nice job! MTs are kickass. Good 60' and that 7.89 in the 1/8 is awesome! Start saving for that 12-bolt, just remember that it's going to rob a bit of power on you!

yeah torched I'm going for high 11s street tires and 120 trap speed. I'm not very worried about breaking my rear though, I could care less about that 10 bolt. Just gives me a reason to do up a 12 bolt with 4.30s.

You pulling some weight from the car? How much power are you putting down? A cam of that size typically isn't going to put down the power to trap 120+ in a stock weight car but you are running the FAST setup, which sometimes helps on the cam-only cars, sometimes not. They do much better with a decent set of heads on there. High 11s will be TOUGH on street tires with a high 11X-trapping M6 car but good luck, man!

Mine was a motive ring and pinion. Lasted a whole day LOL. Put it in on friday and broke it saturday. Thats my luck tho, I see guys beat on there cars every weekend with no problems. I take mine to the track very little and done fried 2 clutches and broke the ring gear. I'm just going to take it easy right now cause those 12 bolts are little to much for my budget right now.

Thanks, its good to see some different cars running. I live in dyersburg and there's just not any. It was my first time on a 1/4 mile track but I wont do it again unless I pull it or somebody with me carries a trailer. Costed me 160 to get it home and 130 for the gear that lasted a day. As far as the busted rear I just put the 3:42 gear back in it and just going to drive it for now and take it easy.
