Talking Finally hit mid 12's

My car ran 12.6 @113 with a 1.9 60' on Fuzion street tires. I have a R1 cam from MTI 232/236 .575 .578 on 112lsa, basically a full bolt on car. Do you guys think that my mph should be higher or am I trapping the correct speed.

Congrats.. you probably could run lower with that mph... My buddy in his 06 a4 GTO with just longtubes and a base tune ran 12.7 @ 108 on street tires.... So...

auto or 6spd? seems like it should trap 2-3 mph higher with that cam maybe. in my 6spd car i was trapping 112 with bolt-ons before the heads/cam.

The car is a 6 speed, it dynoed 396 at the wheels after i installed the cam. But last year before the cam i was trapping 110mph, so i thought a 3 mph gain was kind of weak. Iam going through the traps in 3rd gear hitting off the rev limiter (6800) with my 3.42 rear end, how much do you think 4.10's would help me? Thanks in advance for the help.

Shift it into 4th! If you're bouncing off the limiter before the traps you are no longer accelerating. You're probably well past your peak hp by 6800 rpm and if not, 3rd gear is about done @ 113 mph with 3.42's anyway. Bang it into 4th, back into the fat part of the power band you'll drop ET and gain mph.

And the 4.10's are nice for the M6 because they allow you to maximize 4th gear, I have 4.11's and Ill cross thru the traps right as my shift light is coming on at the top of 4th.

Dont let your car get that high in the RPM in 3rd so you have room for 4th gear.....

Thanks for the advice guys ill try those things nice time i go. I recently discovered that my pressure plate is not gripping that well. On a rainy night i dumped the clutch in 2nd gear to do some donuts and the tires did not spin at all, the clutch must have spun about 2 seconds before i caught on and depressed the clutch. So i think i will have to save up and get a monster stage 3.
