Answer to 9 balls sticky.
If your vehicle is currently running 12s, please post a new post and tell us about your vehicle and what it took for you to run 12s the first time. Then maybe tell us what it runs currently.
This will help out other members by teaching them how to get into the 12s with various combinations. Once you get into the "11 Second Club" we will change your user status.

Well, OK...............
Basically I have a bone stock G8 GXP, 6 speed auto. I live in the Houston area and we have a really great track in Houston Raceway Park.
The G8 GXP was running 13.1 to 13.2 in most of the car mags road tests. The combination of the LS3 (415 hp) and a really great A6 is a good one to start with.
My first night showed a best of 13.28 @ 106.00 in a terrible DA of 2119. Even with this high DA, I was basically happy that a car with paper tags (400 miles) had just ran what most of the road tests were running.
The car handled great and did not have any wheel hop at the track.
Fast forward a few months and I had 5200 miles on the car and on a night with around 420 DA, my best was 13.02 @ 107.39, however I had installed a rotofab CAI. Since it was my goal to hit a bone stock 12.xxx, I decided to take off the CAI, for those who argue about what is and what isn't bone stock.
My 12's were finally ran in December 2009, with a DA of -663, and my runs were
BONE STOCK 6600 MILES ON CAR.

Nobody needs to congratulate the fat old man who wears bifocals on his reaction times.

Basically what I do is try to arrive at the track before opening time, then get teched in first. After that I am first in line to the lane of my choice. At that point I do my track prep, which is lowering the rear tires to 25 lbs. Then I open up the hood and let it cool from the hot Texas sun.
No burnouts, just go around the water and clean off the tires. Then I just haul *** on the last yellow. I launch between off idle and 1,000. I take the traction control off and run in sport mode. One thing that is keeping my times about .1 to .2 slower is that I am going into 4th a couple of hundred feet from the end of the quarter. If I could keep it in 3rd all the way, the slips would be considerably better.
That's about all I can say, except I've surprised quite a few people by running real low 13's and a couple of high 12's in this old mans family 4 door car. There is nothing like getting times like that when some new 5th gen Camaros and Challenger/Charger SRT-8's are running mid to high 13's.
