Default What can I do to hit 12's

I have an 02 Z28 A4. I ran it at Gainesville raceway yesterday and the best I could get was a 13.13. I want in the 12's.
Numbers are as follows
RT .039
60'. 1.977
330 5.582
1/8 8.489 MPH 85.34
1000 10.992
1/4 13.133 MPH 105.24

I was running MT Sportman Pro tires.
All my runs were within a hundred of that.

Mods are; Carbon fiber SS hood and air box, K&N filter, Mac long tube headers, OR Y-Pipe 3" inch exhaust topped off with a flowmaster muffler, MSD wires, KYB shocks, Global West adjustable LCA's, Eibach lowering springs.

More to come but I want 12's now.

maybe a different muffler, and a tune. get rid of torque management and increase shift pressures a tad. maybe gears if you have 2.73's. take out the spare/rear seat. that should get you there. if not just go right for the stall, no use wasting money on little things. beyond that, search. hundreds of these threads already.

Drop the slowmasters and work on your 60ft. I figured with that SRA 1.7s should be warranted stock with an A4. You can also lower the tire pressure in your rears too, to help that 60ft.

What muffler will work best then. I hate the sound that muffler makes.

Forgot to say it has been Dyno tuned at 326whp and 327wtq. It also has comp cam springs and 1.7 ratio rockers.

I think my best was a 1.94 with just headers. 3.73s got me to 1.84, and a 2800 stall got me to 1.74

To the OP, do you have 2.73s?
my car stock ran 13.35, with headers and no tune it ran 12.98. So I sped up just about 4 tenths. Now with a tune, 3.73s and a 2800 stall I ran 12.28 @ 112 and a 1.74 60'

If all you want to do right now is to hit a 12 I agree with jsteele90, get a 3' cutout and that should do it. If the cutout doesn't quite get you there then while your at the track pull the passenger seat and maybe rear seats then you should be right on the 12 mark.

I think it has 3.23 rear gears. I will look into the cut out and less weight.

if you just want a 12 second slip, just unhook your exhaust after the y pipe. Not exactly street legal, but it would be free. I picked up 2 tenths by running open headers on my lt1.

Converter/tires/tune... Bottom 12s
Converter/tires... low-mid 12s
Converter/tune... mid-high 12s (all depends on traction at your track)

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. P&P your throttle body, throw on a cutout, and cut a better 60 ft. and you are in the 12's.

Throttle body goes in tomorrow. Waiting on EFI Alchemy to call me about a cut out, new muffler system, and line lock. I got sub frame connectors today. I am going to run again on 2-6-10.

Ok sub frame connectors went in and ported throttle body. I also picked up a brand new SLP strut tower brace and Free Mods. EFI Alchemy is doing a cut out, line lock, Magna flow catback, and Trick Flow diff cover to stiffen things up.
I will post up my times next Saturday.

A Circle D Specialties 3B or 4C stall converter will put you in the mid 12s and change the entire feel of the car in avery good way
