that is impressive for such lousy DA and stock/stockish stall. Good Job !

and trap says its got 12.5's in it in that crappy air with a better 60 foot.

What gears are in the car ? and are you flashing the stall or loading up the suspension at the tree?

1st run: 6-10 second burnout in first, no smoke, staging light lit, held RPMs at 1500 and stabbed the gas and went...forgot I was still in 1st, 1.88 60s and the rev limiter yelling at me to shift, rolled thru at 14.5 @100. I was still happy getting 1.8s and a .009 RT to boot.

2nd run: rolled around and backed up to the water box, the dude that guided me told me to roll forward and do a burnout, my luck, my tires didn't even get wet, so... he backed me up again and told me to roll forward, 6-10 second burnout, no smoke again...I feel like im not doing it right at all.... held it at 2000 and stabbed the gas in D, hooked and moved, my buddy at the lanes said it just hooked and went.

I think I still need to seal my Chrs1313 ram air and get a trans tune.

Oh yea, my crappy Oreilly tire gauge was off, i was at 17 psi on the tires... I think it was too low.

Very excited of my time...I was nervous I wasnt gonna get to hit 12s

2.73s stock 10 bolt.

not always but usually the quickest 60 foots will come mashing it from idle which allows any convertor including stock to flash up higher and also will abruptly transfer weight onto the rear where it can help with traction.

1.8 60 seems darn solid for 273's without much stall , quality 3600-4000 stall you will be low 12's.

108 mph with 273's were you able to hold 2nd thru the traps or did you have to shift 3rd?

Honestly, not sure. I was more focused on making sure I went straight. I thought I had it datalogged on EFILive, but I didnt hit record... ill try it next time. Would you suggest bringing up my shift points? I think its at 6000

if 100-200 rpm would allow it to hold a gear rather than have to shift it may be worth a shot

Thanks guys, getting the trans tune to see if it will run any different next week. I'm also gonna data log to see if it can it in second, with 2.73 and 26in tire how fast can it go in second?

I'll try 1000 rpm launch, it's how I use to do it with a stock converter, best of 2.0 60s with 315/35 555s

With 2.73's and stock shift points you will not be able to make the traps in 2nd even if you hold 2nd longer. 2nd runs to about 99-100 mph or maybe a few mph slower depending on how much converter slippage you have on a non stock converter.

that doesn't sound right , different gm platform here but with 2.93's in FWD w bodies I used to ping the limiter holding 2nd @96 on stock shift points and could do 99/100 holding 2nd through the traps with shift points at 6200

with 1.62 2nd in a 4l60 and 1.56 2nd in the 4t65e the 2.73's still work out higher so it should do over 100 in 2nd with shift points raised but I would definitely agree now after your post and me doing the math (4.4226 to 1 final in 2nd vs 4.5708) he couldn't/shouldn't try to hold 2nd through the traps where he is trapping 108 unless it was on 28" tires then you may be able to hang 2nd through the traps.

I have never had a 273 geared f body to the track , that rpm drop just to make the traps sucks same as I ran into with w bodies until I made enough power to really need 3rd gear

Ya, a stock converter 2.73 4l60e f body is a really bad 1/4 mile car lol. Shifting into 3rd with a couple hundred feet left is not cool. not making much power until about 135 mph lol

Going max psi on the front tires 20 on the rear, putting back the rubber pad instead of hose mod on my strano, or should I go v6 rears? I have em in my garage... sealing the cap out of the ram air as well. Hoping for 12.5s or 110mph!

Should get more run tom... results and video hopefully
