got a yank 4k and new 255/50/16 mt.ss. going to install this weekend. going for 11's as soon as its back up and running. any predictions? previous 60' was 1.9
You got some good DA or what? Any weight reduction?
Best i could get my stock stall with boltons, 3650 race weight, was 12.6@110, 1.9 60', -1245 DA. This was in Sept-Oct. I WISH I could run this time of the year LOL!
I added the ss3600 and with a raceweight of about 3450, the car went 11.9@112, 1.6 60', -187 DA.
I got plenty of data when you wanna go deeper into mods also.
If your ss4000 install/tune lines up well, you prep good with the same DA, I say you can run a 11.7-11.8 with a 1.5-1.6 60' But this is if everything lines up in your favor like I said.
I had a 02 SS A4 Car on 16" 255 drag radials. Mods were full exhaust and a tune. Stock Trans, Converter, Suspension. I went a best of 1.86 in the 60' 7.98 1/8th at 90mph and 10.36 1000ft. Didn't have a 1/4 mile time.
I feel very confident that 1.6 60' would be possible if I had a 3600 converter and probably a high 1.5.
Oh but as far as launch rpm goes. With the stock converter I would be on the footbrake to 1000rpm and let the oem converter which IIRC is 1800 or so do the rest. If I stalled the converter as much as possible my 60's would be low 1.9s usually.
Easy high 11s if you can get the 60’ down in the 1.5s which shouldn’t be an issue. I ran the same tires and pulled consistent 1.5 60s when the motor was stock. 18 psi was my tire pressure.
[QUOTE=fst100;20212674]i'd say 12.0 at 112 with 1.8 sixty on decent DA, track prep, and with that 2.73 gears. what RPM are you shifting at with the frost tune?[/QUOTE
id day around 6000-6100
Little update trans is almost out, installed the trans cooler today and changed the filter out. Any reason I need a torque arm? My buddy had this stall in his car and never had a issue. Also I sent the stall to yank for a cut and clean so as soon as it’s back it’s game time.
Stock tq arm is a flimsy piece. Think of it as lost energy. I run a ss3600 and cut 1.55 60s consistent with bolt ons. Tires at 30psi for those wondering about tire pressures.
If your an auto a short arm will hook best but will be a bit harsh on the street. A long arm relocated off the trans (important) will hook hard and remove stress from the tail of the trans. Tubular LCA with relocation brackets set to the lowest position will help the tires bite and aid in a launch. There is a lot you could do to aim for the 1.7x 60'. Shocks are another obvious one.
