Previous owner was able to get the car to 11.5 @117, so I was hoping to beat him.

Why's that? Was he really fat?

No not at all. I just have a bit of a competitive side.

Something is definitely wrong. The da was 2300 ft. (Not horrible) and you lost 8mph......

Nah, I'd bet the previous owner just had a lot more seat time in the car. That's why I made that joke earlier because it's not easy doing better than somebody who built the car.

I sold an engine to a guy with the same kind of car as mine and he lost almost 15 mph because he spun tires past the 1/8 mile. Just wasn't used to that much torque and all he needs is seat time.

Previous owner was likely on a well prepped track, with drag pack and good air (plus seat time). 8mph is definitely a lot, but small things add up. A car in "street trim" with a new driver and "normal" weather is a big difference over kill mode, perfect weather and an experienced driver.

How much seat time do you need to be able to get in the car put it in drive and floor it? You shouldn't be manually shifting it anyway so you can eliminate that variable, aside from that the only thing you can control is the launch..either leave off idle or footbrake it a bit to bring the RPM up a bit..which really doesn't make all that much difference..certainly not 6 tenths and 8mph of a difference. So either the previous owner was bullshitting you or something is wrong with it. Is that the first time you've had it at the track?

Was able to get back out to the track last night. Best time was 12.021 @ 114.08
Definitely had traction issues on the first run (12.7, tires at 19psi), I lowered them down to 17 by the last run but did not see a noticeable 60ft improvement.

I don't know what the Previous Owner had changed since his 11.5 run (1.5 60ft), which he never told me about, I found the slip in the glovebox and looked up pics at the track from that night.
He did have slicks and skinnies on (28's), where I have very old heavy OE Wheels knock off vette wheels with M&H drag radials (275/40r17)

On the last run, I gave the converter as much as I could give it, I could feel the tire shake and some spinning.

I have an intermittent erratic idle issue I should probably fix. I thought it was the alternator working hard to charge the battery over the winter, but now it seems to come on once the car is warmed up. Engine idles between 500 and 1000 rpm. Was going to take a video, but it didn't happen this morning, even after I drove for about 30 minutes.

There you have it. Former owner had good air and slicks/skinnies. You can see even with your runs if you cut a 1.5 you would be knocking on 11.5's

Damn I miss Atco, best track with great DA. Try to get another run in the first week of December, that's when I had gotten my best out there.
