Default lt1 in twelves (updated with video)

just started using the board and thought i'd join in on the winter bench racing. what i got is a 1994 z28 m6 with 150,000 miles, motor has never been rebuilt, at the time of my best, all i had done to the car was hooker longtubes, an SRP y-pipe, free mods, tuning, and lt4 clutch on stock suspension i was able to pull off a 12.685 @ 109 at the beginning of last season, after opening day i did 1.6 rockers, 150 wet kit, elec wp, spec 3 clutch, and 4.10's, yielded a 12.15@ 118 babying it off the line. Also broke 4 10bolts last year trying to better the times, but with my driving style, i couldn't best my times without breaking the rearend.

Wow now yer haulin. I have a 95 Z-28 A4 stock (54,000 MI) and a 2000 SS M6 car (55,000 MI) that has gotten all the money this year. When I want to hear good old smallblock thunder I take the 95 for a drive, I love that LT1 exhaust note even thru the stock muffler.

Great Job making that car sing, I hope when I get started on mine I do half as good.

wassup wino.
9" is in the works, don't see 12.50's being a problem once i can launch again, my best 60 so far is a 1.85 and race weight of 3625, with the gas tank on E, but the weight is staying.

wino, you're gonna need more than new valve springs and rod bolts to keep up with the lt1 madpowah! plus if you don't let me win, i'm raising the labor rates when i work on your car.

I just want an 11 w/ the stock cam, sir. If I can't afford your help with my car then I 'll just have to put that TNT kit on.

damn man, what kinda elavation are u in? I pulled off a 12.6 @ 114 w/ the mods below (excluding the shorties)...thats with a 2.0 60'. A4 + stock stall = no nitrous until after 60'

Mine was in 4300 DA tho...i cant wait till i get down to houston or san antonio

I am proud of my trap speed tho. 114mph, is usually trap speed for low, low 12/high 11 sec. cars here. After a TCI 3800, i should be there.

uhm, whatever cincinnati is?? There's only one other car around here that i know of and is a customer of mine who's bested my time with the same mods, but he has a 12bolt, he pulled a 12.63 @ 109 at the end of the season i'm sure my timing chain has worn out (just figured that out last week), along with the final dyno run of the year my injectors maxed out, couldn't get the a/f below 13.4 and the injectors were at 98% but made 298/298 at the wheels.

i'd say your next move would be getting rid of the hypertech, as my shop has proven it over and over that modded cars with that on it are slower than with a stock tune, and get rid of the shorties for longtubes.

the 12.60 was w/out nitrous btw on a 6000 rpm clutch drop
12.15 @ 118 w/ spray babying the clutch off the line and missing 4th gear completely.

oh most definately....the hypertech is only being used for gear recalibration, none of the "power tuning". LTs are one of the next things on the list, but converter is gonna come first. very good running LT1 man!

adam, i'm positive craig won't mind, i want this winter to be over so i can get my car back out. i hadn't been having withdrawls until i saw that. and like i've always said, i'd rather watch my customers cars race, except while i'm racing them, i remember sitting there and watching him leave and go oh chit!, thats why i was asleep at the tree!

It's great to see some more LT1's around, especially running 12's. I can't wait until the track opens back up. Installed NX this winter and hoping to see an 11 sec pass!!

what kind of suspension are you all running? bmr, spohn, LCA, TQ Arm? just wondering cause thats my next mod.

4 10 bolts (SH*T). I would recommend a rear end in the near future. Good luck and have fun.
