I went to the track a few weeks ago with a bad clutch, stock suspension and some ET Street tires and pulled a 12.8. I went again today with a performance clutch, et street tires, UMI tubular lower control arms and panhard rod and didn't even hit 12's. My best time was 13.02. WTF. I rewatched my video of the five runs and two were redlighted, but the rest were bogging a little off the line. Once I am rolling the car hauls ***. I was dropping the clutch at 2-3000 rpm and still bogged. I think the launch is definately the problem, but I dont know if I am hitting the gas to hard to quick, or not releasing the clutch soon enough. I had this problem before, but only because I had no traction and had to ease it off the line. My car is between 420-450 horsepower at the flywheel give or take a little and I know can pull low 12's, I just can't seem to get it there naturally asperated. Thinking of throwing a 150 hp wet kit on it. Any thoughts on all this would be greatly appreciated.

60FT is 2.13
330 ft is 5.7
1/8 ft is 8.572
mph is 86.53
1000 ft is 10.99
1/4 is 13.05
mph is 109.53
This was my best run last night. I think the problem is the 60ft.

Sometimes, a little slip from the tires or clutch can actually improve et, because the engine is not being bogged down from all the sudden force applied because of the friction. You hear of a lot of guys running just a tad faster when their cars "chirp" off the line. Now then engine is seeing a heavier load because of the components. You can try riding the clutch just a hair, or raising your launch speed. Good luck.

I had the same problem when I got my suspension stuff done. On the stock stuff, I would drop the clutch at 2k and get plenty of wheel spin and would get decent 60ft. Now with the SFC's, LCA's, and PHR I take the motor up to 2600-2800 and feather the clutch out of the hole. If takes some practice, but I had to get used to two completly different driving styles. This is all on street tires too.

All of that makes sense. It used to be that in order to get a good reaction time one would start dropping the clutch on the second light, now with my set up if I do that I red light. Did it twice last night. My rear end is still stock, so a 4000 rpm drop would probably be suicide. I will try riding the clutch out a little bit. If anyone has a server to put video on I can put the runs on digital and show them.
