Default Going to the track...first time

Well I am going to the track next weekend if weather permits. I was wondering what others think my car would run. I know it has allot to do with how well you drive it. But I wanted to see what others have experienced. My car is an A4 99' Firehawk. My car is all stock with exception of a cat back. I had it on the dyno a couple months back and it put down 320 rwhp and 360 tq. Heres one other question, does race gas really make that big of a deal? I know it does ones you get into mods and all but for a stock LS1, would it do more harm than good?

As I understand it will foul your plugs.

Read this.

yeah that was a good story, but I am not talking about octane booster, I want to know about 110 octane leaded racing gas. I have heard rumors about it screwing up the cats. I would like to know if there is more I can find out about this.

I use the Trick 101 unleaded octane fuel on hot days to keep from pinging at the track, don't use the leaded gas with cats and 02's.... Also, there should be no reason you need 110 octane with a almost stock car.

If I remeber correctly there was a discussion about higher octane fuels. What I got out of it was.....Higher octane fuel will not help you with performance! UNLESS your car is tuned for it. INFACT the lowest octane you can go is the best idea for performance with an everyday car. Again this is what I got out of it. Anyone want to back me up. Me I would just use premium

Well my point was... without the proper heat range of plugs you will foul your plugs (I don't care if you buy the octane out of a pump or a bottle). You will need a tune to take advantage of the increased octane. And leaded will clog your cats, though I don't know how much you need to ruin them.

ive read on here it doesnt help at all. if anything it can hurt more than help. they say you should use higher octane with nitrous to prevent detonation. well keep searching. im sure there are plenty of ppl who will point you in the right direction

Ok, no race gas. An A4 99 firehawk. 320rwhp. Ill try to guess for you. Of course, this is with little to no wheel spin.
