Am I reading this right? you took off a 99+ LS6 intake and installed a 98 LS1 intake off a Corvette? Wouldn't this cost power? theoretically speaking.

Congrats on the times.

good time for the mph, should have alot left in it though, the ls6 intake cam in 00-02's, so i dunno if it was so much a performance mod as a getting rid of EGR mod.

NIce run!!!

Am I reading that you ran this on a stock 10 bolt rear???

I know autos are much easier on the rear, but you have a pretty high stall converter.

What tire pressure were you running?

I am going to a track rental on 11/11/05 at ATCO. Let me know if you want to come, there is a chance there will be open spots after the original 15 people run.

I am running my TA and my Vette.

I am all worried about running my stock 10 bolt and launching at anywhere off idle with my M6, I usually like to launch at 2000rpms which is still conservative at 25# of pressure.

Congrats again on the fine run,

Howard

DaveC -

I hope my 10 bolt lives at the track.

11/11 will be a great time - as long as you don't mind a bunch of us Mustang guys.

I am administrator of a 03 Cobra & Mustang based website, ironic that I now own 2 GMs. They still don't want to impeach me.

DaveC -

I don't know about the faster thing? -

FORD
My 92 LX went 11.22@124.56 on a soft 1.81 60' on DRs, the run before it hooked and pulled a 1.66 60', but blew the run.
If we would have had another chance, 10.9s on DRs would have been for sure. But, we blew a headgasket after that run.
Traded that car to buy my TA.

My 03 Cobra with just $1100 in mods went 12.22@116.4 on a soft 1.93 60' on DRs
In fact with just catback and cai ($500 total mods) on street radials it went 12.35@115.4.
Traded to buy my Viper.

MOPAR
My stock Viper (except for aftermarket air filters) went 11.67@120.56 on a 1.68 60' on Kumhos Ecsta V700s.
Traded to buy my Vette.

So, faster is doubtful, but my GMs sure are alot of fun to drive, espeically the TA. Nothing like the sound of a cutout at 4500rpms

one thing you need to understand I like only chevy's ,will only own a chevy . I know that there are fast fords out there . my earlier statment was only in good fun.If i had to own a ford it would be a 67 shelby. like the one in gone in 60 seconds.if there was no competition everyone would drive a amc. hahahaha

I had a 67 Camaro

350
dual quads
headers in to dual 3" pipes thru Flowmasters
Huge cam
4.11 rear
THM350 tranny

Loud and Nasty sounding

By far most of the cars I have owned are Mustangs and Vettes.

Throw in a few Trans Ams and Z28s and that is the vast majority of my cars.

Can you tell I like V8s???

The Viper and Ram Air TA were just too hot looking to pass up as is my new Vette.

Hard to beat Corvette Yellow, Viper Yellow, or Pontiac Red.

My Mustangs never looked as hot, but their Performance made up for it.

Now go get that car to run a 11.999 and we can start another thread.

My stock 10 bolt has held up fine to plenty of track passes as well as street runs and I have an M6 with almost 500 HP, stock clutch is OK too.

brad8266 -

Thanks.

I needed to hear that.

I have never had a car break at the track that I was driving. I am pretty easy on my cars.

When my 92 LX blew a Headgasket my buddy was driving, he is much harder than I am on a car.

Once I had a hood fly up, but the car still drove home.

Although I am easy on cars, I have only once had someone drive my car to a better time than me at the strip, he powershifted and I grannyshifted my cai & catback equipped 03 Cobra, 12.35@115.4 to 12.48@114.89, and those cars need to be powershifted.

IS IT SAFE TO DO A SLIGHT BURNOUT TO CLEAN THE TIRES???

At Atco there is no way to drive around the water trap.

Since it is a rental I will try to have them leave one side dry, but last time they forgot.
