Default What do I need????

Hey guys I have a '97 T/A with mods in sig. A buddy of mine has a '95 5 spd Stang with all the bolt ons and H/C and runs a mid to High 12. I run a consistant 13.90 and I want to at least hang with him. Id like to see consistant mid 12's or lower. My car has about 135k Mi. So Im thinking of a Speedomotive 383 with a mild cam like the Hot cam and heads. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I want the car to be very streetable since its My daily driver. Thanks.

well first I'd make sure everything is running correctly. That time seems kinda low for those mods (unless your altitude is really high). Lots of bone stock LT1s have run that time. You really should be mid 13s already with a 6spd and 4.10s plus some suspension (unless you can't drive it, lol).

If you're sure there are not any issues, I would do headers, sticky DRs or slicks, a cam, and a tune.

Yeah those times are pretty weak. I forgot to mention, The 13.90 runs were before the 4.10's and LCA's. Do You think 02 sims would make a difference cuz right now I dont have anything. BTW SMART ***!!! J/k, I can drive pretty damn good Ican powershift 2,3 and 4th gears. And I chirp 2 and 3. Its just My 60' times that are killing Me. The best 60 I've managed to pull was a 2.00 on BFG DR's . And thats shitty. Maybe I need to slip the clutch because I either bog or spin the tires. Do You think I need new DR's? I got them used and they are about 7 years old. Thanks for the reply.

Well that's good if that time was before the gears. I'd say you might not even need the cam then. Just get longtube headers, a tune and definitely some new tires. BFGs are not that great and if they are old and bald that is just worse. Get some mickey thompsons.

If that doesn't do it add a cam and you should get low 12s.

Wasn't sayin you couldn't drive but yeah I figured something was wrong if you got that time with the 4.10s.
