12.1 cam only stock 10 bolt
i have decided that all the people out there with cam only cars running 10s are either liers or have thousands of dollars into the car. the only thing that is stock is the rotating assembly and maybe 243 heads. my car which is 3350 without me with headers that came with the car, cam (t-rex), gears (4.56), and a crappy tune went 12.1 at 114 on ET streets (stock rear end). now if i went anywhere else my car would be in the 11s because i went to the worst track in california (LACR Palmdale). i just thougth it would be nice to let everyone know what i did because a lot of guys talk bad about cam only going 12s and i know there are other guys out there like me. anyway if you are in the same position as me or have seen similar times let me know. i would like the car into the 10s with a helping of nitrous. oh and my sixty foot was 1.67. has anyone seen below that on a stock 10 bolt?

I've cut a 1.65 with my 10bolt w/3.73's.(Stalled A-4) And I have a cam only car running 11.9's right now at about 3700lbs with me & a big stereo. Dont let others talk get to you too much.

Most of the fast cam only cars are light as hell and are cutting 1.3x short times.
I think your times are great for a full street car. You should be able to easily push it into the 10s with a 150 shot. Even witout nitrous you could probrably see 11.8s pretty easily.
I've done plenty of 1.40s with the 'ol 10 bolt. I did stick a pair of moser axles in it though.

You are probably shifting at 5500 or something and your tune sucks. or your 60' is probably 2.67, not 1.67

My car for example has run 12.2 @ 110 and I'm Stock Internals. I have a 4000 stall, stock rear w/ 3.23s and I'm shifting at 6000 rpms. This on a 1.66 60'
A good friend of mine has an 01 Camaro SS, 4400 stall, cam-only, 3600 lbs, lots of suspension work, 3.73s in 10 bolt and he runs 11.4s @ 117-118 but he's consistently in the 1.5x range. Again, big stall, low 60' times.
Also, I've gone multiple low 1.5s and a couple 1.49s on the stock 10 bolt. Those are on the spray though.

You need more weight out of your car #1 and what do you have for susp. upgrades? Also no tune is killing you as stated before in the thread. When I was stock internals with most the bolt ons, on 17" SS wheels with nittos, with some weight out I went 12.1 @ 114 with a 1.83 60ft onthe stock 10bolt and gears.

im going 11.4s cam only stock heads with my 10bolt...4.10s and a eaton posi
and i have a full weight car...ony suspension is bmr tq arm bmr relocations for the tq arm lca's lca relocation weld ins and a adjustable panhard ..

i got my best time last wed i went 7.370 at allmost 94 the 1/8th with a high 1.5 60'' on motor ive finaly gotten the car dialed in.
the 11.4 was on a 7.4x timeslip on motor havent been out since.... i live like 10min away from a 1/8th mile drag strip and about 2 hours away from a 1/4 mile im awating my injectors for the 100 shot and hopefully i'll see 10s... i havent made any passes with the n20 yet im so exicted to do it..
