'02 z28 i just bought this car in june of '06. its a 2002 pewter z28 m6. it currently has 15k miles on it. the only thing i have is a slp lid and k&n filter. my best time in the car is 12.9@109. i think thats pretty good for a stock ls1 dontcha think? i was really surprised at it since my friend's '98 T/A a4 with gears, intake, headers, exhaust got bout 13.1 let me know what yall think of it.

Thats pretty encouraging. I got my Z28 last spring also (19k miles) but have not yet hit the drag strip. What was your launch technique? What tires?
I'm hoping to get in the 12s, but my car is definately set up for road courses. Should I be there w mod in sig? Some of my fellow road course racers have had real traction issues at the strip, keeping them in the low 13s.

mine i use the eagle ga tires that came with the car make no adjustments to the air pressures leave them at 30 psi. turn the traction control off and launch at 1700 and drive around the water in the burn out box. and thats also leaving it in overdrive the whole way.

its all bout the launch .....the first couple of times i ran the car i was turning 14.0s....which was very disappointing. it still had the eagle ga tires....i would always rev it up and dump it and roll thru the burnout box. lowest i got doing that was 13.1. then the last run of the night i sat in the box and smoked em up for a lil longer and launched it at bout 2500 and dropped 2 tenths just like that.

Great run! I'm working on my launch so hopefully I can cut a sweet 60ft time. I've got the dual/duals, and I want to get a lid/filter (I know....I'm the only one left who DOESNT! 
) and maybe a cut-out. Hopefully, that will be enough to net me a 12.8 or 12.9.
