Next time Tim when I go we can line up. I'll have some DR's on the back. Should help me make use of first gear. I saw you run something like an 11.5xx Very good run. What did you have on the front, a set of slicks???

Your C5 should have trapped way higher than 121 mph. My SS with 450 rwhp trapped 121 mph and my race weight was 3800 pounds.

I was expecting 124 to 126. Very surprised. Could a dirty air filter hurt me that much?? I got it out and looked at it. Each pleat was filled with cottonwood, dirt, bugs, and everything else you can think of. She was seriously choking. Hopefully next time with a clean filter and DR's on the back I can post some much better numbers. What RPMS do you suggest I launch at and what pressure should the DRs be set at ?? Do you also suggest to inflate the front tires to 40 psi to help get her rolling a bit easier? Just some of the suggestions I have been getting.

You definately need toget some drag radials. Go for the bfg's or some mickey thompson and stay away from the nittos. i have 470rwhp and still spin my 315 bfg drag radials in 1st and 2nd so i would go for the stickiest ones you can get. i definately think you can trap 124-125. When i had 410 to the wheels i was trapping 119 and havent been to the track since i now have 470 but with your car being a couple hundred pounds lighter youll definately get there with some DR's.

Not to redirect this thread... but has Milan been busy Wed nites? I didn't even go last year cause I didn't want to break my 10-bolt, well it is broke now. But, I am picking up my 9" tomorrow.

Anyway, I hate going there and spending all nite getting 2 runs in because it is so busy and someone ends up blowing up their car. Just wondering how busy it has been so far.

Not that BSing while waiting in the stages lane for 3 hrs is horrible, but it would be nice to get some runs in.

Thanks,
Brian

Hey Brian it took nearly 6 hrs to get 3 runs in. I know exactly what you mean. The waiting game sucks. It would have been so much nicer to have done my 3 runs back to back to back. That way the tires would have stayed hot and the previous runs mistakes would be fresh in my mind so I could correct them on the next run. Rather then doing the same bs over and over. Part of the wait was due to an accident. As soon as I got there someone dropped their motor on the track and crashed. Waited for ems and fire etc etc.

Actually just before. My third gear is only good for 118 I think. I hope I wasn't letting off before the end of the 1/4 mile. All you have is a cone to show you the end of the 1320. Would be nice if there was a little more to distinguish the finish line from the rest of the track. JMO.

you definately got 11's when you get your 60' down but I have to agree with everyone else, with "490rwhp" you should easily trapping more than 121mph. heck 125mph should be NO problem with a true 490 rwhp.

I just dont understand where all these people go to make 480-500+ with H/C 346's. Since "mike c." made 463rwhp on Kirks stang dyno. I was expecting 480-490 on a dynojet with my 10 bolt, however I went to 2 different dynojets and saw 457 through the cutout, and 453rwhp with my 3" duals & restricting 2 1/2" tailpipes which were 2 1/4" and the bends. Now I got 3" on there now and will be redynoing next saturday. And I know the motor isnt weak. My buddys 408 ETP 225, 12:1, 90/90 made 492/466 thru a 6 speed and another buddy with a 02 z06 absolute 2.5 LS6 heads, X3, 90/90, LGs etc..made 456/409 on this same dynojet. I wanna see some track times to back up all these "480-500+" H/C cars

I'll post up after I go back to the track with the DR's Hopefully I can drop the ET and raise the MPH a bit. Don't forget I am running 3.42 gears in the back. I think 3.73's would be Ideal for my combo, but this is not a track car. 99.99 % of the miles are on the street. I love being able to drive on long trips and not have to worry about stopping for fuel.

As we talk about, seat time and tires will make the biggest difference. It's not easy to run these cars to their max, it takes alot of practice and experimentation. Your mph will get higher as your shifting/points get better but you need the traction as well for et.
Get the drag radials asap. You could loose over 1mph each shift if you hold in the clutch too long and don't shift at the limiter. Let me know when u get the drag radials and we'll chat about the launch.
I couldn't find the video?

He needs seattime. He'll get that mph up there, soon.
I have some cool videos of my car with 412-419rwhp if anyone wants to see.

Yes there is a video on here floating around of me doing 190. Car isn't my DD. I do drive it on the weekends to work (weather permitting) and enjoy the open eways on Sunday morning especially. Thanks for the positive comments. I wish I had a camera with me the night I buried the speedo chasing, catching, and passing these bikes that flew by me like a couple of jets. They were dumbfounded when I passed them and stayed ahead.

That pass looked very clean. I'm surprised you aren't kicking out more on the shifts. You drove it very well with the setup you have(tires). I have never run my setup with street tires and only taken about 3 passes cam only on street shoes and even then it was a handful to keep straight. It will be like driving a new car with sticky tires. I'll get you a few videos if you'd like. I would need someone to host them.
