I hate how people hate on '98s so much, like they are the bastard child or something. My 98 performs just the same as any other year , and that's with almost 200k miles.

Stock A4's with 2.73's are pretty much the slowest LS1 F-bodies you can buy, stock for stock. Most of the guys running mid 13's are M6's, or 3.23 geared A4's. Honestly, any year A4 is going to be a dog in stock trim. Add a stall and you'll be in the 12's.

What is all this talk of turds? there is no such thing as an ls1 turd, weve gotten pretty spoiled when we bitch about low 14's from a stock a4/2.73 car with a novice driver. mine ran 13.80/s bone stock, and with minimal bolt-ons (see sig) its in the 12's. How many other competitively priced, drivable, fairly economical cars can do that? These cars respond very well to free mods/ bolt-ons for not a lot of cash. Do the simple stuff and learn to drive the quarter mile before trashing a great car.
