i odered a Lingenfelter 3.5" aluminum driveshaft and a Edelbrock adjustable torque arm. i will put them on as soon they come in and hopefully get to the dragstrip before they close for the season. i am determined to make it to the track!!!!!!!! i hope i will have better luck this time.

congrats, not many make it into the 12's stock, let alone with that high a trap. maybe the exhaust makes that much of a difference, who knows. but i guess im one of the only ones having a hard time believing a 111mph trap on a stock car, thats good for mid 12s on a drag radial.

keep us up to date on this freak

What advantage would 16" wheels give you?

they weight less than his aftermarket 17" rims. And its rotational mass so it makes a bigger difference than just regular wieght in the car.

the wheels that were on it when i ran were the factory chrome 02' z28 wheels that it came with from GM. i'm pretty sure they were not a secret weapon in drag racing.

no but they are alot lighter than what you're running now. i'd say they are worth about a tenth and 1-2mph. that's about what i lost when i got 17's.

I am thinking the exhaust made the difference because I had high traps but damn!

Of course I still have the super shitty paper filter and no free mods.

i had a stock ac delco paper filter and the only free mod i had was a cut off muffler when i ran the 12.9 but now i switched to a k&n. im not expecting much of a difference.

241 = ls1 heads
243 = ls2 and ls6 heads

I wonder if someone had that car tuned before you bought.

Either way, congrats on the times and keep up the good work.
