how many lt1 in the 12s
#23
I've owned 8 LT1 camaros and modded 6 of them and all were in the 12s with bolt ons. One in the 11s with spray. I don't get why it's so hard to break 12s for some reason. The engines are torque monsters. Take advantage of it. Get some sticky tire and a stall and go from there. I've seen as much as a half a second gain without engine modifications, not to mention gears and and a tune. The bolt on record is 11.80(very light), but there's no reason any(full weight)bolt on LT1 owner shouldn't be in the 12s.

you say that now... but when u get to the track its a different story... trust me. i dn what the earlier poster was talking about breaking into the 12's with bolt on's with an LT1 isnt the easiest feat in the world....

I used slicks, and pay attention to those mods,,,,,,,,,,it is a stock LT1 motor. It is completely full weight, cold A/C, untuned, and UNTOUCHED motor. Launched @ stock rev limiter, SPEED shifted @ 5800 and consistent 60's of 1.908, 1.909, 1.910, 1.911, and then the slicks found the weak spot(clutch) and got a 1.978. Had to get trailered home. Yea the car has been modded, but the LT1 has not been modded. It is a stock LT1 motor. Thanks for believeing. It'll be at Cordova, Illinois with a custom torque arm, spec stage 4 clutch, frame connectors, and an adjustable suspension this year,,,,,,,,running 12's.

I can believe that... I ran a 13.01@106.9mph in good air (for Dallas anyways - 0' DA probably) when my car was pretty stock. I'm unaware of anyone that ever ran faster than that w/ so few mods... Factory 10 bolt on BFG DR's. Just a kirban shifter, cutout, and SLP CAI (**** 60's too.. 1.9X). Added hooker shorty headers and I ran 12.8's@108mph - all summer long. 224/236 cam - 12.4@112... CC306/ ported heads and a KTRE 12 bolt - 11.9's@117.
This was all back in '99 - '02 or so though...
